From “selling products” to “selling technology”

Guangbo Group makes waste newspaper, cotton, bagasse even stone into books, albums and notebooks which are popular with foreign businessmen. During international financial crisis this cold winter, Guangbo successfully realized the change from “selling products” to “selling technology” through scientific and technical innovation. In this cold winter, it found the opportunity and was rejuvenated.

Guangbo has always been keeping up with the step of world technologies' development, make every effort to embrace the latest technology into the products, enlarge the owning amount of products’ core technology with independent intellectual property. While the giant R &D team develops over 30 types of new products every day, which is the support of Guangbo’s change.

Since the second half of last year, Guangbo has felt keenly that environment-friendly products will become the fashion trend, especially countries like Europe, America and Japan which paid special attention the products’ function of environmental protection. Therefore, Guangbo resolutely advanced that should create environmental protection-related products to seize the opportunity in the domestic market.

At present, Guangbo has adopted soybean environmental ink in the products’ printing. On the choice of paper, including acid free paper, stone paper, sugarcane paper, reed paper and Indian paper these environment-friendly serial products have been successfully developed and put into mass production.

 “The same as paper products, the export rebate of this product is only 11%, while that product’s export rebate is 13%. Why? Because this is ordinary printing ink, that is environment-friendly printing ink. It can be said that environment-friendly ink brings great profits for the enterprises…” told by Wang Liping, President of Guangbo Group, when interviewed by CCTV.

Now, although the price of Guangbo self-developed environment-friendly products advances 5% above ordinary products price, the growth of environment-friendly products is still 20% higher than that of ordinary products, and has accounted for7% of the proportion of the company’s export products.

However, environment-friendly products research and development actually is only a plain one among Guangbo’s numerous “technological revolution”. Having printing digital reconstruction jointly with Canada Clio company, jointly developing digital CTP fabrication technique with Kodak company, developing color management system together with Beijing printing college, overcoming the difficulties like album warped mortarboard together with colleges like Ningbo University and Zhejiang University, all of these will reveal Guangbo’s resolution in creating science and technology style enterprise.

In referring to future scientific and technological innovation planning, President Wang Liping showed, Guangbo will continue to give pride of place to independent innovation, favour human, material, financial resources, promote optimization and upgrading of industrial structure, realize countertrend break through.
